Terence Jack at Wine Oh’s

  • What: Vancouver alt-folk musician Terence Jack performs at Wine Oh’s along with Shiloh Lindsey and The Shiv Shanks.

Suncor Stage One Festival

  • What: Nine scripts were selected for this year’s festival out of 100 which were submitted. Through the Suncor Stage One Festival, Lunchbox Theatre has become Canada’s leading development source and producer of one-act plays. At the end of each season, Lunchbox Theatre holds a series of staged readings of new works and invites audience members to give feedback during a discussion period.

Jazz YYC Summer Festival

  • What: Jazz has taken over the city. Check out weekend shows at Ironwood Stage and Grill and other venues in town. Acts like Hugh Fraser’s VEJI big band, Marianne Trudel from Montreal and more!

Picnic in Vic Park

  • What: Haultain Park is gearing up to host a convoy of Calgary’s most beloved food trucks, when Picnic in Vic Park returns to the city for another year. Running over three consecutive days there will be 15 plus food trucks, live music from BassBus, giveaways, cold beer from Village Brewery, and a stack of things to see and do.
  • When: Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19, from 11 am to 7 pm (all three days)

Okotoks Dawgs Games

  • What: SherlockHolmes helps legendary Victorian actress Lillie Langtry get her letters back after she is threatened with blackmail over private correspondence with the Prince of Wales.

Neighbour Day 2016

  • What: Neighbour Day is an opportunity for neighbours to come together in the form of a front yard barbecue, garden party or picnic. A great way to meet your neighbours and you can request for the Mayor to be there as well!

Framed on Fifth Neighbour Day Festival

  • What: Artist Holly McWilliams is bringing her new art show Gravity to Calgary’s Framed on Fifth this June, and will be showcased at the gallery’s Neighbours Day festival.

Grand opening of The Alberta Tennis Centre

  • What: Check out the newest and best tennis centre in Canada with the opening of the Osten and Victor Alberta Tennis Centre. This $10 million dollar facility has 13 courts, a fitness centre, viewing area and cafe.

Train Day

YYC Lobsterfest 2016

  • What: The second annual YYC Lobsterfest is coming to town June 18 and 19 at Market on Macleod. Treat your dad or yourself to one fresh lobster, plus a side dish, and your own personal bib (adults need them too for lobster). A cash bar will be set up for purchasing beer and wine with proceeds from the event going to the Calgary Firefighters Burn Unit.

Something Old, Something New: 125 Years of Wedding Fashion

  • What: See some of the most trendsetting and common wedding dresses in Alberta from the last 125 years. The exhibition features collections from the Museum of the Highwood, the Red Deer Museum, the Royal Alberta Museum, the Lougheed House Conservation Society, as well as numerous private collections.

Banff Marathon

  • What: Participants will start in the town of Banff, then make their way through a series of incredible natural, wildlife, pass by the serene Vermilion Lakes and journey along the stunning Bow Valley Parkway. Choose between a Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K run all finishing in Banff’s downtown Central Park.
