Vancouver-based YYOGA is growing again with the opening of a North Shore location, and it’s headed up by a longtime member of the community.

Canada’s original network of yoga studios previously unveiled franchising opportunities that allow interested entrepreneurs to join as owners.

YYOGA has revealed that its new location will open this month at #210 -131 E. 13th St., North Vancouver.

According to CEO and founder Terry McBride, the new location is a continuation of its goal to create a yoga community that everyone belongs to.

“It’s always been our intention to make the world a better place through the practice of yoga and the power of mindfulness,” McBride said in an announcement about YYOGA Lonsdale on social media.

McBride went on to introduce the location’s co-owner, Jen, who has been a passionate yogi since her youth.

He said that the YYOGA franchisee became captivated by how her practice made her feel grounded and present both on and off the mat.

“This profound feeling has fueled her practice for two decades, fostering a deep connection not only to herself but also to her family, friends, and community,” added McBride. “As the third-generation member of the North Shore community, Jen has deep roots in a profound personal connection to this location.”

YYOGA has several Lower Mainland locations that offer both heated and non-heated yoga styles, sculpt, mat Pilates and more.

The new location will feature two yoga rooms and amenities such as lockers, mat and towel service, showers, and a tea lounge.

Located in the heart of Lonsdale, the studio is accessible by foot, bike, transit, and car.

McBride is looking for more inspiring leaders and people passionate about yoga to join the fitness and wellness company.

“Our founding studios opened with the intention of making the world a better place,” said McBride in a statement online. “With the help of some incredible partners, we set out to create places for our guests to disconnect, go inward and feel like they belong.

“I’m excited to share that our next chapter includes growth through franchise partnerships as we look to expand our network of studios.”
