YWorld has been invited to “join an esteemed group of coaches and lend our expertise to the next generation of entrepreneurs during [the 2013 Startup Weekend at UBC].”
Senior Marketing Director Elizabeth George, Educational Outreach Coordinator Branka Jokic, and Communications Director and Community Manager Matthew Borghese will attend the 2013 Startup Weekend at UBC, from March 22 to 24.
Startup Weekend (sponsored by Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services and others) is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.
Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend-long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams and start companies.
Elizabeth, Branka, and Matthew will join an outstanding panel of coaches including Kemp Edmonds from HootSuite, Rob Adamovsky from Best Buy, Thealzel Lee from E-Fund, Kimberly Kaplan from Offeron, and Alex Hobbs from CampusAuction.
From launching our own platform to supporting young developers (did you miss YWorld’s Spring 2013 $1,500 Hackathon?), our team is committed to cultivating the next generation of professionals.
Donnelly Group donated a prize of $100 for the Startup Weekend; YWorld is sponsoring the prize, which the winner can spend at the Donnelly Group.
