Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is set to host the second annual YVR Chill Out in Richmond next month.

The free summer festival is taking place on Saturday, August 19, at Larry Berg Flight Path Park.

You don’t want to miss this exciting event which showcases local artists, a ton of food trucks, and activities like YVR’s kid-friendly Passport Challenge where you’ll have the opportunity to win free YVR aviators and fanny packs.

Don’t forget to visit the community tent while you’re there for your chance to win two free flights – to anywhere Vancouver International Airport flies.

In excess of 2,000 people attended the event last year and it’s set to be even bigger this year. YVR has increased the free shuttle service and you’ll find free parking at BCIT Aerospace Campus so you don’t have to worry about the logistics when you get there.

You’ll be able to easily access the free shuttle bus between BCIT Campus, Templeton Canada Line Station, and Larry Berg Flight Path Park.

YVR Chill Out 2017/YVR Chill Out

Every year through its community investment program, YVR donates $1 million in funding to community organizations across the Lower Mainland. And you’ll get to find out more when you visit interactive booths hosted by the partners at the YVR Chill Out.

You can expect to see live music performances from artists David Morin, Derek Pitts, and Fionn, while DJ Alibaba will be spinning tracks. Vancouver-based children’s music duo Bobs & LoLo will be performing live so the kids will be entertained too.

And you can even try out some Latin dancing as YVR’s community partner Latincouver will be instructing and performing an interactive dance class. Simply stretch out on the provided picnic blankets and bean bags when you’re done.

To make it even better, you’ll get to take part in fun activities onsite like arts and crafts, face painting, and at community partner booths like Vancouver Aquarium, the City of Richmond, and St. John’s Ambulance.

There’ll also be magicians, bubble artists, and photo booths where you can snap memories of the day. You can check out the full schedule of events and performance times at YVR Chill Out online.
