Connect with yourself and others at Vancouver's YuLounge

Dec 19 2017, 11:15 pm

We can all benefit from getting to know ourselves better, no matter what stage of life, financial situation or relationship status we are in. If you know what makes you happy and just need some guidance and clarity on how to set the wheels in motion, YuLounge might be your next destination.

As a certified coach and NLP practitioner, Tonia Mattu has a passion for inspiring people to discover their potential and be the best they can be. This led to the creation of Yuology: The Study of You. It’s a program that teaches progressive principles and actionable tools that you can apply to your life to become more optimistic, curious and connected.

“Life is about connection, and in today’s society we are lacking it,” says Mattu. ”I have made it my goal to inspire people to be who they are and to give practical tools to reconnect and create a life they love.”

There is no greater inspiration than being surrounded by people who are driven to achieve their goals – it’s almost contagious. We all have ideas and dreams but sometimes they are stifled by routines, habits and even relationships.

YuLounge is a chance to be seen and heard for who you are in a fun and welcoming environment with like-minded people outside of your circle. It’s a place to gain new perspective on ideas and challenges, to collaborate, to be held accountable to your thoughts and actions and be inspired by people interested in personal growth.

“Every human being goes through different points in their lives where they have clarity and directions. YuLounge is for everyone at different stages and different times because we can all still benefit from learning new things, meeting new people and getting a fresh perspective.”

Every YuLounge discussion is on a new topic pertaining to connection, including vulnerability, authenticity, curiosity, intention and intuition.

As a collaborative group, you will:

  • Discuss the power of courage and vulnerability
  • Empower each other to be who we are
  • Explore our potential for new opportunity
  • Set and align goals with our desires
  • Learn how to listen to our heart and give presence

“What you’re learning are essentially ways to study yourself and learn more about who you are and what you stand for,” says Mattu. “You will gain easy tools that you can start incorporating into your life now. People walk away feeling lit up and empowered.”

Much like building up the strength of a muscle takes multiple visits to the gym, building your “connection muscle” takes the same kind of repetition. It’s an investment into the most important asset: yourself.

“We go to the gym and we go to yoga but it’s in silence. This is a place you can go and expand on the thoughts you have that have the potential to change your life,” says Mattu. “A lot of the time you feel selfish and that you can’t talk about yourself, but the intention here is about you.”

YuLounges are fun, inspiring and certainly not a typical networking event. How often do you get an opportunity to take time out for yourself, speak about the things you want, release your ideas, passions and dreams with new people and free from judgement?

The time is now and the place is YuLounge.
