Christmas choirs took to one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods last night for Yule Duel 2015. The first annual Gastown Yule Duel caroling competition on Water Street was a joint partnership between The Bloom Group and Gastown Business Improvement Society. Featuring 21 vocal groups, performers caroled along the stretch of Water Street, culminating in a sing-off on the main stage set up on Maple Tree Square. All proceeds of the event went to May’s Place, a hospice for those in the Downtown Eastside in need of end-of-life care.
