Youth worker charged in sexual assault against teen girl

West Vancouver Police are reporting they have approved charges against 28-year-old Pooria Mohebbi for two alleged sexual assaults against at least one teenage girl at his home.

“Police received information in early May alleging a male had committed a sexual assault involving an intoxicated youth at his home in early January. Subsequent investigation identified evidence indicating a second alleged assault in similar circumstances,” said West Van police in a release.

The suspect was initially arrested on May 12 and was released without charge but with a condition regarding internet access. Mohebbi breached his condition and was arrested again on May 20. He has since been released on bail with a court date set for May 27, 2015.

Crown Council has now approved two charges of sexual assault and one charge of Breach of Recognizance against Mohebbi.
