Don’t let your new years resolutions run away from you just yet.
The YMCA is giving Vancouverites the opportunity to stick with your fitness goals without heading too far out of your comfort zone.
Unlike typical fitness centres, the YMCA focuses on a community approach, bringing Health and Fitness programs for people of all ages and levels of fitness. There’s no pressure to be the best out of everyone – just the best you can be.
To prove it, the YMCA is waiving their joiner fee for all of January, which means you’ll get all the benefits of getting fit without some of the cost. The deal is even better for one lucky Daily Hive reader – the YMCA is giving away a free six month membership so you can stay fit well into the new year.
To enter to get a six month YMCA membership, do the following:
1. Tweet the following on Twitter: (1 entry)
2. Like YMCA Vancouver on Facebook. Leave a comment below telling us once you have. (1 entry)
Contest entries will be accepted from time and date of publishing until 11:59 pm PST on January 31, 2016. One winner will be chosen at random and contacted through the platform they enter by.
Their fitness centres feature modern equipment and amenities to make your workout as convenient and comfortable as possible. From personal training and individual workouts to group fitness classes, their friendly and approachable staff and volunteers are there to support you on your journey to better health.
Improve your fitness in a motivating group of your peers. They offer classes for individuals of all fitness abilities. You’ll have fun while a certified YMCA instructor guides you and your group to better health.
Through swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and other programs, YMCA Aquatics offers you and your family many ways to make a splash. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced swimmer, you can gain the skills and confidence you need to stay safe and enjoy the pool.
If lifting weights and workout classes are not your thing, there are other ways to stay in shape. Play your favourite sports and games or learn something new. Between basketball, volleyball, martial arts, badminton, and more, most Ys offer something for everyone.
Dealing with health challenges can be tough. YMCA Health Management programs empower you to actively manage your health concern or chronic condition, and be proactive with your health.
Naturally, the food you eat plays an important role in how you feel. YMCA programs and services will help you learn how to make sustainable food choices and learn healthy preparation and eating habits.
