We at the Buzz are all about positive change. In particular, we love young people making efforts to not only increase awareness but also taking positive action. Today, we are proud to share a great event occurring in Vancouver on November 8, called Yes!+ Fest ’09.

Here’s some official info:

YES!+ FEST ’09: Youth Gather to Take Oath for Change!
A Concert Event that Features Local Bands

Hundreds of youth will come together for a momentous event, where youth will stand up to take an oath to create a Stress-Free, Violence-Free Society. Awards will also be presented to people in the community who are doing significant work towards promoting such a society for the youth.

Inspired by the transformation YES!+ has brought in their own lives, YES!+ graduates from Vancouver have decided to organize YES!+ FEST ’09, a drug-free and alcohol-free event that allows youth to experience positive ways to celebrate, and to collectively take responsibility for their city. The event will showcase several local bands and artists who support this vision, and will be attended by local prominent dignitaries and community leaders.

YES!+ FEST ’09 will be an extravaganza of youthful energy, optimism, and commitment to individual and global transformation. An event hosted by YES!+ VANCOUVER, in conjunction with the Art of Living Foundation, YES!+ FEST ’09 is a celebration of a global movement of youth (age 18 to 35).

As part of a Canada-wide movement, the first YES!+ FEST ’09 took place in Montreal where hundreds of youth gathered on June 9th, 2009 to take the first oath for change (http://www.artofliving.ca/YesPlus.aspx).
