About XYBOOM
XYBOOM started off as a conversation between a few twenty-somethings, confused about the high levels of underemployment among themselves and/or friends. A familiar story for many Gen Y’s, it seemed as though there were way too many very educated, capable yet unemployed (or underemployed) young people around who just couldn’t find stable employment in their field(s) of interest. After many more discussions and some investigation, planning for the first XYBOOM conference began after they successfully applied for a grant to fund the endeavour.
The XYBOOM Conference: “From Workplace Tension to Intergenerational Collaboration”
The 2013 XYBOOM conference is centered around the theme: “From Workplace Tension to Intergenerational Collaboration.” They will be debunking generational myths and misperceptions; participating in dynamic sessions; sharing and developing strategies and promising practices on co-creating collaborative, multi-generational workplaces and more. The conference will also be addressing various issues that generations are facing in the workplace including topics under recruitment, retainment, succession planning and transitioning. Based on the outcomes of the day, they will be providing unique and practical takeaways for employers and employees from all generations so that participants can bring tangible ideas and strategies back to the workplace.
