David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were spotted at the corner of Hornby and West Hastings streets today filming The X-Files revival, an upcoming six-episode mini-series.

20th Century Fox announced in March that the supernatural drama series would return this summer, with filming occurring in Vancouver.

Both Duchovny and Anderson are reprising their respective roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Joel McHale, best known for his role in NBC’s Community, has joined the cast in the city.

The original series ran for nine seasons from 1993 to 2002 and attained a cult following, to the extent that it became a part of pop culture. The first five seasons of the series were filmed in Vancouver before production moved to Los Angeles for the final seasons.

It also hit theatres twice in 1998 with The X-Files: Fight the Future and again in 2008 with The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which was filmed in Vancouver.
