There’s a new design duo in town, and they are launching their latest collection in town this long weekend. Their signature design is a marbeling effect, created by floating paint in water. We like.
About WXA100: WXA100 was formed in 2014 by two Emily Carr University graduates, Artem K and Warren Cheng. The company creates limited runs of disparate objects while embracing timeless design and striving for flawless handcrafted execution. Each series is firmly restricted to a run of 100, and is never to be reissued. Future series will include collectible designs such as blankets, wallets and tote bags. Works are meticulously handmade, resulting in functional, beautiful, accessibly-priced collectibles which fuse the disciplines of art and design.
WXA100 is proud to launch this second collection of one-of-a-kind designs: notebooks with covers featuring marbled paint, each volume crafted by the designers themselves. Two colours of the handmade books will be available for purchase: Binary, a black-and-white version; and Ampersand, a blue-and-white iteration, both for sale via the WXA100 website and at the pop-up.
Demonstrations will take place each day, and guests are encouraged to try their hand at the technique, to produce a one-of-a-kind piece.
