A live wrestling showcase is taking over the Commodore

There’s no spectacle quite like live wrestling.

Art-meets-entertainment with plenty of sweat (and maybe a bit of blood thrown in for good measure), a wrestling match is an adrenaline-pumping event not to be missed.

This winter, you can witness the rope-jumping, high-flying action first-hand. On January 17 and 18, the Elite Canadian Championship Wrestlers (ECCW) group is bringing another Ballroom Brawl to the Commodore.

ECCW is Canada’s largest and longest-running independent wrestling promotion. Putting on quality shows for 19 years in the Lower Mainland and around BC, the ECCW has been the birthplace of several WWE Superstars — Tenille Tayla and Natalya come to mind.

In the heart of downtown, the Commodore Ballroom’s storied dance floor will become a wrestling ring. Athletic prowess will combine with tables, ladders, and chairs, for a heart-pounding good time. Fan favourites from all over North America like Douglas James, Tony Deppen, and Jake Atlas, will get in the ring and compete with ECCW’s roster.

ECCW events often tend to sell out, and their popularity in the Lower Mainland is unparalleled. Wrestlers regularly help out with charity organizations, food banks, and hospices, so a fun night out makes sure these athletes can continue their outside-the-ring work.

Tickets to the 19+ event Ballroom Brawl XIII start at $35 via Ticketmaster for either the Friday or the Saturday. Two-night packages are also available.
