FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
A Surrey shopping centre parking lot will be transforming into an outdoor public skating rink for two weekends as part of a new winter festival in February, and it’s all for a good cause.
The event takes place in the north parking lot at Guildford Town Centre and will see the site become what organizers describe as a “winter wonderland,” complete with an outdoor skating rink, food trucks, and a life-size snow globe.
The event is being presented in partnership with the Surrey Hospital Foundation to support their Children’s Health Centre campaign.
“We’re hosting the Winter Festival to connect families across the Fraser Valley and beyond,” said Guildford Town Centre Marketing Director Kyla Way. “We’re excited to offer the Guildford community something complimentary and unique, especially over Family Day long weekend, and give back at the same time.”

Surrey Hospital Foundation President and CEO Jane Adams said the Children’s Health Centre at Surrey Memorial Hospital was built in 2001, and “since then, the population in our community has grown by 50%.”
Currently, “the centre is undergoing a transformation to increase capacity, allowing us to care for more kids, close to home,” she added. “Thanks to support from the community and generous organizations like Guildford Town Centre, construction has now begun on this exciting project.”
