The best season is fast-approaching. Winter? No, ski and snowboarding season! With it comes Vancouver’s largest ski and snowboard shopping weekend.
The Canadian Ski Patrol’s Winter Extreme Ski & Board Swap is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19, at the PNE Forum.
Winter sports aren’t necessarily the cheapest hobbies, which is why you can stretch your dollars further by shopping for thousands of used skis, boards, boots, clothing, and accessories at major discounts.
Whether you’re outfitting fast-growing kids, upgrading your own winter gear, or have finally decided to skip the rental lines with your own equipment, you’ll find everything you need and more at this epic two-day sale. Plus, Sunday ups the ante with an extra 25 per cent off red tag items. Score!
And as an added bonus, the event is just plain fun! This year’s iteration will have live DJs, a Saturday Rail Jam, resorts and awesome brands exhibiting their gear, a 50/50 draw, prize giveaways, and a licensed beer garden. If only all shopping trips were this fun!
Have items you’re looking to sell? Get in on the action by dropping off your old gear on Friday, Oct. 17, between 3 p.m and 7 p.m.
A fundraiser disguised as a good time
While the sweet deals are certainly enticing, the importance of this event lies in the cause. Not only is the Winter Extreme Ski & Board Swap run by Canadian Ski Patrol volunteers, but proceeds will also go toward mountain safety and rescue.
Canadian Ski Patrol volunteers show up in every kind of weather to keep skiers and riders safe. You hope you never have to see them, but if you do, it’s safe to say you’re in good hands. This sale is your chance to help the helpers, celebrate the season, and leave with good gear and a greater feeling.
