Wine spill on Trans Canada Highway takes 10 hours to clean up

Dec 19 2017, 5:20 pm

A semi-truck packed with crates of wine spilled its contents after crashing on the Trans Canada Highway just after 9 p.m. last night near Hope.

The driver hit a centre median before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into another truck that was carrying pulp.

No one was injured, however, both vehicles were extensively damaged and thousands of bottles of Casillero del Diablo red and white wine poured out of the crates and smashed onto the road.

It required crews 10 hours to clean-up the wine and broken glass mess on the highway. The driver of the wine truck has been charged with driving without due care and attention.
