Summer may be winding down, but there’s still no shortage of great events coming up that are sure to whet your palette. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, a foodie or just someone who enjoys festive gatherings, here are a couple upcoming events you’ll want to mark down on your calendar.

Vista D’oro Farms & WineryChaberton Estate WineryTownship 7 Vineyards & Winery and Backyard Vineyards are inviting guests from across the region to enjoy FREE ENTRY and FREE TASTINGS of up to four wines at each of their fabulous estates in the heart of the Fraser Valley. If that weren’t enough, complimentary appetizers are being served with larger meals available for purchase as well. Add some live entertainment and incredible scenery to the mix and you have yourself the perfect Sunday afternoon activity.

But wait – there’s more! With the purchase of one or more bottles guests will be given a stamped Campbell Valley Wine Route post card. Collect stamps from each of the four wineries and you will be entered in a draw to win a deluxe wine cooler!

For those of you keeping score at home that’s free admission, free wine tastings, free appetizers and a chance to win a wine cooler to store all that award-winning wine, not to mention the great atmosphere and spectacular scenery (also free).

Guests are encouraged to choose their own route, but if you’re travelling south from Vancouver on Highway 99 it’s easiest to visit Vista D’oro Farms & Winery first before winding your way up to Chaberton Estate Winery, Township 7 Vineyards & Winery and finishing at Backyard Vineyards. If you’re coming east on Highway 1, it’s best to go in the reverse order.

Other upcoming events involving wine that you’ll want to circle on the calendar are the Campbell Valley Wine Run on Sunday, September 21, and the Campbell Valley Wine Route’s Fall Wine Festival on Sunday, October 5.

Many of the city’s best food trucks will be making their way over to New West to serve up some of your favorite dishes including: Japadog, Vij’s Railway Express, Holy Perogy, and Aussie Pie Guy just to name a few. With so many great food trucks to choose from, you’ll want to save room for more than just one. See the complete list of food truck’s that will be in attendance.

Precision Greens is sponsoring a Pop-Up Picnic Park where foodies can gather and eat their food picnic-style on realistic synthetic grass. There will even be a designated ‘patch’ for beloved canines!

On this day, the only thing flowing faster than the mighty Fraser River will be the beer off the taps! With an extended festival grounds area and three separate beer gardens to choose from, you’ll be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a wide selection of BC’s best craft breweries. Be sure to sample one of the creations from New West’s very own Steel & Oak Brewery, the city’s first microbrewery which recently opened its doors in June of this year.

Usually reserved for Thursdays, the Royal City Farmer’s Market will also be making an appearance. Vendors include Cravings Kettle Corns, Otimo Brazilian Cheese Puffs, and The Salt Dispensary, amongst others. The Peak 102.7 FM is hosting live on location and will be playing the latest indie/rock tracks. You also won’t want to miss out on musical performances by Angie FaithBenRogers, and David Morin.
