Wind warning issued for parts of Metro Vancouver

If you think the weather can’t get any worse, get ready for a blast of wind.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for parts of Metro Vancouver including the following:

  • Metro Vancouver – southeast including Surrey and Langley
  • Metro Vancouver – southwest including Richmond and Delta

According to the weather agency, winds between 70 to 90 km/h are expected to develop in Greater Victoria in the early evening and hit the southern sections of Metro Vancouver later in the evening.

“Winds will shift abruptly to the southwest late overnight or Thursday morning in the wake of the low with gusty winds.”

The winds are expected to calm by Thursday morning.

Environment Canada has also issued a snowfall warning for the Metro Vancouver region.

The weather agency says that between 10 to 15 cm is expected over Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
