New York rockers Vampire Weekend are coming to Metro Vancouver next fall during their Father of the Bride North American tour.
The ‘White Sky’ singers are slated to perform an outdoor gig with special guests on Wednesday, September 25 at the Festival Lawn in Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park.
Kicking off on May 17 and running through October 8, the tour will see Vampire Weekend perform in Montreal, Toronto, Seattle, Portland, at Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl, and festivals including Hangout in Gulf Shores and Firefly in Dover.
Since their debut in 2008, Vampire Weekend have released two additional albums, both of which debuted at #1 and have been certified Gold in the US — 2010’s GRAMMY-nominated Contra, and 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, which won that year’s GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album.
This spring, the group’s new album, Father of the Bride, will be released on Columbia Records.
