If recent times have taught us anything, it’s that we can find creativity in the most unexpected places.
We’ve transformed our homes into makeshift offices, gyms, and commercial kitchens; we’ve made our own entertainment by partaking in challenges on social media — even if they resulted in a series of epic fails.
So, what now? If you’re starting to feel like you’ve done it all, and you’re ready for a challenge you’ve never embarked on before, Vancouver’s 99.3 CFOX wants to hear from you.
The radio station is currently running a Go FOX Yourself contest, giving one Vancouverite the chance to win a whopping $50,000. If you’re already planning how you’d spend your winnings, stay with us.
Now, let’s get into the contest details (cue drum roll).
CFOX essentially wants you to tell your friends, relatives, their friends, your enemies — anyone and everyone — to tune in and listen to the station. To do this, you’ll have to recreate and display their logo in the most creative way imaginable.
How you choose to do this (and get as many eyes on your entry as possible) is entirely in your hands. Maybe you’ll shave the CFOX logo into your hair or cut it into your front lawn? Maybe you’ll get a CFOX tattoo? Maybe you’ll have an aerial banner of the logo sent across the sky?
Although the possibilities are endless, there’s just one caveat: It has to be legal.
“We know everyone in Vancouver is going a bit stir crazy right now. So here at CFOX, we thought the best way to try to break that funk, was to get creative and possibly win a life-changing amount of money,” Stephen Dolhagaray, FM Marketing and Promotions Manager at 99.3 CFOX, told Daily Hive.
“People of Vancouver are very imaginative and innovative, so we think this concept of recreating and displaying the CFOX logo around the Lower Mainland can bring out people’s creativity and help shake up their routine. Plus, the chance at $50K should pique everyone’s interest!”
All entries submitted to the Go FOX Yourself contest will be judged on three criteria: Creativity, Exposure, and Accuracy. To ensure you’re checking the boxes for all of these things, use the original CFOX logo found here.
The beauty of this contest is that you don’t need to have a background in marketing or advertising to enter — you just need to have a great idea to execute. All entries must be submitted from now to Wednesday, May 19 at 5 pm.
On Friday, May 21, the top 10 entries will be announced at 8 am during the Jeff O’Neil Show. From there, members of the public will vote for their Fan Favourite winner, who will take home a $2,500 prize. As for the others who make the top 10? They’ll take home at least $500.
Meanwhile, the Grand Prize winner of $50,000 will be chosen by a panel of Corus Radio judges and announced on Friday, May 28 at 8 am.
It’s advisable to get your entry in as soon as possible because one of the top 10 entries will be voted on by you. The sooner you enter, the faster this can happen. Pro tip: Share your entry on social media for the maximum number of votes.
Here’s a look at the steps to follow:
- Get out there and creatively execute your stunt, displaying the CFOX logo to as many people as possible. (Think exposure, exposure, exposure!)
- Document your stunt by taking pictures or a video. (Post these on your social media pages for additional exposure and bonus points.)
- Drop your image or video (MP4 or MOV) file into the Dropbox account here, following the set naming convention (FirstNameLastName_City_StuntTitle).
- Complete the entry form here, including a direct link to your stunt. If you include a link to your social media, make sure that your page is public.
Once you double-check that you’ve done all of the above steps, you’re officially entered in to win the Go FOX Yourself contest.
