Beitashour came to Vancouver with a reputation as one the league’s best attacking fullbacks but didn’t live up to the hype. He’s a solid player that management likely would have liked to keep, if not for his hefty contract.

Beitashour’s cap hit goes up in 2016. He made over $197,000 in 2015, but the Whitecaps declined the option on his contract in 2016, believed to be worth around $220,000.

The 28-year-old defender played two seasons in Vancouver, appearing in 54 games, starting all of them. Prior to joining the Caps, Beitashour played four seasons with his hometown team, the San Jose Earthquakes.
