Whitecaps FC unveil new head coach for 2012 season

Dec 19 2017, 1:03 pm

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced in a press conference at Empire Field this morning that they have chosen who will be the head coach of the MLS squad next season. Joining the team is Martin Rennie. The Scottish born former player has been at the helm of the NASL’s team the Carolina RailHawks since 2009.

To say the inaugural season for the Whitecaps has been a tough one would be an understatement. When the team made the jump to MLS from the USL they brought their coach at the time, Teitur Thorsen up with them. When the Whitecaps stumbled out of the gates Thorsen was let go and Director of Soccer Operations Tom Soehn stepped in as an interim head coach.

The team responded well to the first coaching change and have been improving with every match they have played. Will this be the case to begin next year?
