Whitecaps FC striker Octavio Rivero named MLS Player of the Month

Octavio Rivero, one of Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s newest players, is taking the city and league by storm, and has been named as the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for March.

The 23-year-old Uruguayan is tied atop the league’s scoring charts with three goals (in his first four MLS matches), and has wasted no time establishing himself as the focal point of Vancouver’s attack.

His latest strike, on March 21 against Orlando City SC, was crowned MLS Goal of the Week.
