The great folks at MLS have announced the list of finalists for the annual Year End Awards. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC were proud to announce that Eric Hassli has been nominated for the Newcomer of the Year Award. The French born striker joined the Whitecaps FC as the teams first ever “designated player” heading into their inaugural season. Hassli quickly became a fan favorite in Vancouver with his size, determination and of course his finishing ability. In 26 games as a Whitecap this season Hassli recorded 10 goals on an otherwise disappointing squad. This strong year has earned him the spot as a finalist for the Newcomer of the Year Award. Here is a list of who Hassli is up against for this award:

  • Newcomer of the Year
  1. Eric Hassli – Vancouver Whitecaps FC
  2. Luke Rodgers – New York Red Bulls
  3. Mauro Rosales – Seattle Sounders FC
Head over to the MLS website to see a full list of the finalists.
