This week started off on such a sad and infuriating note as we found out that Outdoor Adventures Whistler (a company that should be boycotted by everyone!) pretty much ordered the killing of 100 sled dogs last year. I won’t get into a rant on why this should have never happened and how the BC SPCA should have done something to step in. Instead I want to focus on two rally’s happening this weekend, one in Whistler, the other in West Vancouver.
Barking Mad: West Vancouver Rally for the 100 Sled Dogs Killed in Whistler
When: Sunday February 6th, 2011
Time: Noon to 2pm
Where: The dog walk in Ambleside Park in West Vancouver (next to the SPCA)
What: An outdoor rally organized by Catherine Barr and friends of WestVancouver.com to show our governments, and the world, that we are “Barking Mad” and we won’t sit idly by and wait for it to happen again.
When: Saturday, February 5th
Time: Noon to 2pm
Where: Blackcomb Chair Lift to the W.A.G. Shelter
What: If you can make it up to Whistler this weekend join this peaceful protest against this senseless act! Bring your signs and bring your pups and lets give these hounds a voice.
If there are any other events going please feel free to send us an email (vancitybuzz@gmail.com) or add it in our comments section. Please spread the word and share, retweet, call, whatever you can do to help get the word out!
