With the FIFA World Cup 2014 hosted by Brazil right around the corner, businesses begin to prepare their TVs and menus for the surge of soccer fans expected to flood The Drive for the games. As one of the most popular craft brew houses in Vancouver, St. Augustine’s will be open from 9 a.m. everyday during the World Cup and will serve brunch until 11 a.m. The regular menu and the beer will kick in subsequently, with 60+ taps that feature many from local microbreweries. The place will have 13 TVs for guests to watch the games.

Caffe Napoli is a small charming location, where customers love to drop in for a cup of Italian espresso to go with the game. But as a licensed cafe, you can enjoy anything from coffee and tea to beer and wine. Caffe Napoli will hold two 40-inch TVs and a big screen in its space for the regulars and other customers to come watch.

This little Italian coffeehouse has been on Commerical for 31 years and is currently renovating. Management is planning to have it open just in time for Italian day, and surely for the World Cup. With a new colour and style as well as more space, Caffe Roma continues to be the mecca of coffee bars, but is now also a lounge. Alcohol served from 9 a.m., with six TVs around the lounge.

While continuing to hold specials every week, the Charlatan will also have prizes to be won during the games. Enjoy high end beer and food at this contemporary bar. With three storeys, they will have five TVs in the upper bar, a big screen in the middle section as well as the lower bar. Instead of its regular 11 a.m. starting time, The Charlatan will be open early for the 9 a.m. games.
