World Cup 2014 on Commercial Drive

St. Augustine’s

As one of the most popular craft brew houses in Vancouver, St. Augustine’s will be open from 9 a.m. everyday during the World Cup and will serve brunch until 11 a.m. The regular menu and the beer will kick in subsequently, with 60+ taps that feature many from local microbreweries. The place will have 13 TVs for guests to watch the games.

Caffe Napoli

Caffe Napoli is a small charming location, where customers love to drop in for a cup of Italian espresso to go with the game. But as a licensed cafe, you can enjoy anything from coffee and tea to beer and wine. Caffe Napoli will hold two 40-inch TVs and a big screen in its space for the regulars and other customers to come watch.

Falconetti’s East Side Grill

Falconetti’s two storey place featuring a rowdy downstairs crowd watching the games on two projectors, as well as a more laid back crowd watching the games in the upstairs outdoor patio through two 60-inch TVs. Falconetti’s is greatly famous for their sausage—and will have a World Cup special, sausage and beer, ready for its guests.

Fets Whiskey Kitchen

This “Southern inspired” kitchen accentuates its whiskey of high calibre, along with its fried chicken. Fets Whiskey Kitchen features a great outdoor patio where guests can continue to watch the game, as well as seven TVs on the inside plus a 120-inch big screen.

Caffe Roma

This little Italian coffeehouse has been on Commerical for 31 years and is currently renovating. Management is planning to have it open just in time for Italian day, and surely for the World Cup. With a new colour and style as well as more space, Caffe Roma continues to be the mecca of coffee bars, but is now also a lounge. Alcohol served from 9 a.m., with six TVs around the lounge.

The Charlatan

While continuing to hold specials every week, the Charlatan will also have prizes to be won during the games. Enjoy high end beer and food at this contemporary bar. With three storeys, they will have five TVs in the upper bar, a big screen in the middle section as well as the lower bar. Instead of its regular 11 a.m. starting time, The Charlatan will be open early for the 9 a.m. games.

Libra Room

Libra Room will be serving a breakfast and lunch menu for early morning games until 5 p.m., and will switch back to its regular menus afterwards. Four 60-inch TVs are up around the lounge in viewpoint for all the guests to enjoy. Door prizes will also be available.

Saloniki’s Greek Taverna

Enjoy the games in the open and elegant space provided by Saloniki’s. A 120-inch projector will be inside and a large 80-inch TV will be hoisted outside for the roomy patio. Open from 9 a.m. to midnight every day. Stop by for a game and receive a souvlaki plus a beer for only $10!

A World Cup menu will be given during games, with Carlsberg bottles and Double Long Islands on special. This two storey friendly neighbourhood bar has 14 TVs, including one for the patio, and a big screen downstairs all to play the games.
