Here's what's open and closed in Vancouver for Family Day this year

Family Day is fast approaching, and there are plenty of fun activities to do with your loved ones around Vancouver on Monday, Feb. 16.

But if you’re looking to run some errands around the city on the statutory holiday, be warned that many services and businesses operate under different working hours.

To help you get ready for your adventures, here’s a list of what’s open and closed in Vancouver for Family Day.

Malls

  • CF Pacific Centre Mall (open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • International Village (open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • Park Royal (open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Metropolis at Metrotown (open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • The Amazing Brentwood (open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Coquitlam Centre (open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Guildford Town Centre (open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Tsawwassen Mills (open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • McArthurGlen Designer Outlet (open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Richmond Centre (open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Lansdowne Centre (open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Lougheed Mall (open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Central City (open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Willowbrook Shopping Centre (open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • City Square (open noon to 5 p.m.)

Community centres

  • Coal Harbour (open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • False Creek (open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
  • Hastings (open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Kerrisdale (open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • Mount Pleasant (open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Roundhouse (open 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.)
  • Sunset (open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • Thunderbird (open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Trout Lake (open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • All other community centres are closed

Ski hills

  • Grouse Mountain (open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
  • Cypress Mountain Resort (open 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
  • Mt Seymour (8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.)

Grocery stores

Many grocery stores are open but may operate reduced hours on Family Day. The following grocery stores are open, but be sure to check with your local store on what time they’ll be closed:

  • Safeway
  • Superstore
  • Save on Foods
  • No Frills
  • Whole Foods
  • Urban Fare
  • Walmart
  • Costco
  • T&T Supermarket

Translink

TransLink buses, SeaBus, and SkyTrain services will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. West Coast Express will also not operate.

TransLink Customer Service Centre, Access Transit Customer Care Office, and the Lost Property Office will be closed.

Here’s what’s closed:

  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Canada Post
  • All government offices
  • ICBC (although Dial a Claim is still open 24/7)
