Canada is gearing up for the quarter-final of the men’s Olympic hockey tournament, and we now know when the game will air on TV.
After going a perfect 3-0-0 and finishing as the top seed heading into the knockout round, the Canadians have earned a bye into the quarter-final. The Czechs defeated Denmark in Tuesday’s qualifying round, meaning the Canadians will face off against Czechia in the quarter-final.
Canada’s QF matchup will go on Wednesday morning at 10:40 a.m. EST/7:40 a.m. PST.
Canada rolled over the Czechs with a 5-0 shutout victory during the preliminary round and will remain the heavy favourites to advance to the semi-final. If the Canadians advance, it will be the fifth time in the last seven Olympic Games that they’ve reached the semi-final.
Here is a full schedule of the Olympic quarter-final matchups for Wednesday:
Slovakia vs. Germany – 6:10 a.m. EST/3:10 a.m. PST
Canada vs. Czechia – 10:40 a.m. EST/7:40 a.m. PST
Finland vs. Switzerland – 12:10 p.m. EST/9:10 a.m. PST
USA vs. Sweden – 3:10 p.m. EST/12:10 p.m. PST
It’s important to note that, while the Olympic bracket is set for the men’s hockey tournament, there will be a reseed for the semi-finals, which may change who will play whom.
Canada, however, cannot meet the United States until a potential gold medal game.
