VIDEO: WestJet makes 32,000 Christmas miracles happen around the world in one day

WestJet is at it again. The Calgary-based airline continued their holiday tradition of making miracles happen for Canadians and people around the world, this time committing to over 32,000 acts of kindness and generosity.

The fourth annual Christmas video, the 2015 WestJet Christmas Miracle: 12,000 Mini Miracles video was released Wednesday. During a short 24-hour period on December 9, thousands of WestJetters around the world, and those moved by their actions, took time during their busy flight schedules to head to homes and communities in over 90 destinations and do a little good. Their goal was to make 12,000 miracles happen, but the team far exceeded expectations with a whopping 32,000 acts of kindness.

The miracles ranged from simple yard trimmings to family trips to Hawaii, and collaborating with Ellen Degeneres to give everyone in her audience two round-trip tickets to Vancouver. The number of miracles and thoughtfulness of WestJet’s generosity appears truly heart-warming.

“We are humbled and amazed at the outpouring of response to the mini miracles initiative. Our expectations were absolutely shattered,” said Richard Bartrem, WestJet Vice-President, Marketing Communications. “The video illustrates how the day played out. It brings to life the human connection and joy that WestJetters spread from coast to coast and around the world.”

This is the fourth year WestJet has made Christmas miracles happen, and demonstrated their corporate goodwill through a viral video, which combined have over 50 million views on YouTube.
