A member of the school community at West Vancouver Secondary has tested positive for coronavirus.

School district spokesperson Tricia Buckley told Daily Hive Tuesday evening that the person is currently self-isolating at home. She reminded those close to the school that they will be contacted by public health staff if they were potentially exposed via contact with the individual.

“Our schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so children and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible,” Buckley said.

West Vancouver Secondary does not yet appear on Vancouver Coastal Health’s list of potential school exposures. Only Sentinel Secondary, another West Vancouver school, appears.

Buckley declined to say when the West Vancouver Secondary case last attended school or how many of their contacts now need to isolate.
