'Significant' West Vancouver property listed for nearly $50 million

A stunning West Vancouver property, which features a massive acreage of land, has recently been listed for nearly $50 million.
According to the public listing, 5210 Marine Dr. was listed this month for $49,880,000.
The listing from Virani Real Estate calls it a “once in a generation opportunity to acquire one of the Pacific Northwest’s most significant waterfront estates.
So what do you get for that massive price tag?
The listing states that it encompasses four legal parcels that total 2.83 acres with over 330 ft of “spectacular ocean frontage.”

Despite the massive size, it also boasts “exceptional privacy, breathtaking panoramic views, and direct water access.”

The pictures of the property tell a story all on their own, with some of the shots looking straight out of a wealthy character’s home in a Hollywood flick.
One of the main bedrooms is a great example of the luxury on offer.

“This irreplaceable legacy estate features a beautifully maintained main residence by Arthur Erickson, surrounded by lush, professionally landscaped grounds, putting green, grand beach house, and an unparalleled coastal setting.”
According to the listing, the stunning West Vancouver property is over 60 years old, having been built in 1964.

“Rarely does a property of this scale, and prestige become available, offering the ultimate opportunity to enjoy today while creating a lasting family legacy for generations to come on the oceanfront,” the listing adds.
There is no sales history for this property, which would fall under the ultra-luxury sector.
Outside of the luxury sector, the latest report from Greater Vancouver Realtors, which looks at numbers in June, suggests that Metro Vancouver home sales were up 10 per cent year-over-year compared to last year.
“June saw a pattern of broad gains in home sales across all home types relative to the same time last year, which has been a rare occurrence in recent years,” said Andrew Lis, GVR chief economist and vice-president of data analytics, in the report.
“June’s data could be an early sign of a shift in the market. In recent years, sales trends have usually been mixed across home types, which is typical of a sideways trending market. But with all housing types posting gains in June, the data indicate demand may be returning to the market more broadly.”
