Weekend Date: FINAL Food Cart Fest at The Waldorf

Dec 19 2017, 2:22 pm

Some consider Sundays the “fun-day” of the week. Duties may include sleeping in, church (or temple, mosque etc…), laundry, running errands, visiting Grandma, grocery shopping, cleaning, brunch with friends, a walk around the seawall, or just enjoying the day lounging in your comfiest clothes watching reruns of Glee with your freshly new or long time running beau.
One of the many duties you could or could not do this Sunday, is heading down to The Waldorf for the final day of the Food Cart Festival in East Vancouver.
Initially, Food Cart Fest was planned to take over The Waldorf grounds every Sunday throughout the summer, but due to popular and hungry demands, it was decided to extend the event into September. This Sunday is the last day to stuff your face and involve yourself in a great community atmosphere.
Bringing in more than 5,000 visitors since the festival started at the end of July, Food Cart Fest has quickly become the city’s largest gathering of food trucks, with an impressive roster of 18 foot carts dishing out tasty treats to hungry Vancouverites. This FREE and family friendly event starts at noon and goes until 5:00 pm, and also includes a 19+ beer garden in the outdoor Beach Bar with a local DJ.  Participating food carts in the weekly fest so far include some of the city’s top food carts and food artisans La Brasserie, Soho Road, Off the Wagon, Re-Up BBQ, The Juice Truck, Mom’s Grilled Cheese, Cartel Taco, Street Meat, Pig on the Street, Guanaco and Holy Perogy.
Bust out your eating pants, grab the almost love of your life, and head over to The Waldorf this weekend for some good eats, family fun, and beer in the Sepetmber sun!
