Don’t let this wet, cold weather fool you into thinking beach season is over: forecasters expect summer to come back swinging with another long streak of sunny weather coupled with hot temperatures and it all begins tomorrow.
It comes just before Saturday’s start of the Celebration of Light, with the United States to light up the skies over English Bay. The forecast calls for the same conditions to extend through the entire Honda Celebration of Light festival and into the Vancouver Pride Parade weekend.
The wet weather over the previous week has been a mixed blessing. Cool and wet weather has died down forest fires and the risk in certain areas of the province, but the danger still remains high especially with the upcoming dry, warm forecast. Yesterday, 153 firefighters from across Canada arrived in B.C. to join the personnel of more than 2,000 firefighters already on the ground.
