Watts goes to India

Dec 19 2017, 12:37 pm

Gregor went to China, now Watts is going to India. It’s a business mission to strengthen ties between Surrey and India. With its large South Asian population, Surrey is a natural fit to be the bridge into the West, as Vancouver is for China. What Surrey can bring to the table, however, is questionable. What if this is Surrey hype gone bad again? It may not.
SFU comes in and brings in huge credibility playing a part in this. Their focus is on student recruitment, joint academic programs and collaborations in research and development. Their goal is to be the leading University with ties to India.
Surrey’s sectors of interest include education, clean energy, wood/manufacturing, film/entertainment (Bollywood) and information and communications technologies.
The trip is scheduled for February 10-18, 2011, for fourty lucky Surrey businesses hand-selected and interviewed to see if they fit the mold. Should be a great trip!
