A water main break on Robson Street is caused a pond of water to form further down the street at the intersection of Robson and Denman streets.
The rupture occurred early this morning just outside the Whole Foods grocery store on Robson Street, between Bidwell and Cardero streets. Water from the break streamed downhill and overwhelmed drains at the intersection.
City crews have been deployed to fix the break and clean-up the flooded areas. The route for today’s Vancouver Santa Claus Parade, located along Howe and West Georgia streets, is not affected.
Staff at Whole Foods say the store is expected to reopen later this evening.
