One of the most anticipated television revivals of the season has released its first trailer, and the hype does not disappoint.

On Thursday night, FOX unveiled the first official trailer for The X-Files reboot premiering on January 24, 2016.

“In 2002, our investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not. They police us and spy on us, tell us that makes us safer – we’ve never been in more danger,” says David Duchovny’s character, Fox Mulder, during the trailer.

After stating that he can’t do it alone, Detective Mulder calls past-partner Dana Scully.

The two-part trailer doesn’t give too much away, nor does it include any scenes obviously filmed in Vancouver, but just hearing that eerie chime at the end of the clip is sure to bring back some major nostalgia for fans of the original series.

Back in March, Fox announced The X-Files would be back for a six episode event, 13 years after the hit show left the air. Returning along with the series will be stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, reprising their roles as Mulder and Scully.

The show spent five years filming in Vancouver during the 90s and cast and crew were back at it again this summer preparing for the new series.
