Blind sea otter Wally plays with fellow rescue otter for first time (VIDEO)

Wally, the blind sea otter rescued last year by the Vancouver Aquarium, got to meet new friend Tanu, another rescued sea otter, for a little bit of playtime this week.

You may remember Wally–he’s the sea otter badly injured by a gunshot blast in October 2013. He’s had a year of treatment and rehab at the Vancouver Aquarium, and is healthy enough now to meet his fellow sea otters at the Marine Science Centre.

The Vancouver Aquarium says socializing with other sea otters is “an important step in [Wally’s] long-term recovery.”

When it came to their first encounter, things seem to be going swimmingly for Wally and Tanu.
