Where to watch Super Bowl 50 in Vancouver

On February 7, the NFL Super Bowl, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will take place at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. While that might be a tad too far to travel for most Vancouverites, there are plenty of pubs and bars at home screening the final match between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, with many venues offerings drink specials, giveaways, and pre-game tailgate parties.

Gastown’s Lamplighter Pub will be throwing a mega Super Bowl party on February 7. The day will start with a special Super Bowl Pre-Game Happy Hour, from Noon to 3 p.m. The pub’s BBQ will be cranking, cooking up all-you-can-eat burgers for $30.

Malone’s Bar & Grill

This downtown sports-friendly bar is excited to screen the Super Bowl, with sound. To assure a good seat football fans should try and turn up to Malone’s around 2:30 p.m. Alternatively, people can call ahead to reserve a table. The sports bar hopes to encourage patrons to play games at halftime, for the chance to win a range of different prizes.

Terry and Deaner (Timber’s official mascots) are hosting a Super Bowl Table Campout at Timber on Sunday February 7. They’re filling the Coleman Cooler with Old Style Pilsner cans and the cans will go for $5 each, until they’re gone. Townsite Brewing is letting the Robson Street locale tap two kegs of their sessionable Suncoast Pale Ale (that gem never leaves the Sunshine Coast). Chef Chris Whittaker is bringing in a pig and he’ll be making up pig-focused features, like pulled pork and potato skin nachos. Timber will also host a meat draw.
