Everyone knows that in order to have the career you want, you have to go after it and/or create it yourself. But for many of us, determining the one thing we want to do for the rest of our life can be tough, because many of us enjoy so many things.

When our guest today, Amy Rae, graduated University with a degree in Finance, she knew she wanted to work in Venture Capital. However, when she decided she was ready to join the Venture world, job opportunities were less than abundant, as it was right after September 11, 2001. So she started from the ground up, resorting to tactical career moves to get her from where she was to where she wanted to be.

In today’s interview, Amy shares the tactical moves she underwent to get the career she wanted and shares the value of staying focused, keeping your eye on the prize and as Nike likes to say, just doing it!
