Wanderlust Festival brings flying yoga to Whistler in July

Wanderlust Festival is returning to Whistler for another year, offering a more mindful kind of music festival, full of yoga, meditation, hooping and hikes.

This year, the festival runs from Thursday, July 28 to Monday, August 1, and judging by the schedule… you’d better brace yourself for some seriously peak Vancouver.

The festival aims to be a transformational experience, where festivalgoers “explore new ideas, make new friends, discover new abilities, and dance your heart out.”

Highlights this year include Radical Relaxation from Shiva Rea, global yoga teacher, energy activist and “movement alchemist.”

Other unusual classes include Acro Vinyasa (this seems to be some kind of flying), AIReal Yoga (more flying) and the intriguingly named Wielding An Axe In A Tree Pose class.

And don’t forget to attend the Flower Hair Combs Tutorial and Into the Ether – a Blindfolded Yoga Journey. Seriously.

If that all sounds just a little bit too achingly hipster, there are also plenty of hikes and late night dance parties to keep you busy, while the others are bending over backwards.

Wanderlust Festival Whistler tickets are on sale now, priced $100-$490 at wanderlust.com.
