History, adventure and fun will sail into Richmond from June 3 to 7, 2011 for Ships To Shore Steveston 2011. Four of North America’s most popular tall ships will dock in Garry Point Park reliving the days when Richmond’s Steveston Village was a major port-of-call for fleets of sailing ships from around the world.
Ships To Shore Steveston 2011 also kicks off an exciting series of events that will be held in Richmond through the summer. From one of Canada’s most popular and longest-running Canada Day celebrations, the Steveston Salmon Festival, to an expanded Richmond Maritime Festival to innovative new events such as the Mortal Coil Theatre’s Society production of Salmon Row at Britannia Heritage Shipyard, the new series will be an eclectic blend of arts, sports, culinary, cultural and community events and celebrations occurring in the Steveston area from June through September.
