VPD urges witnesses of gas station stabbing to come forward

The Vancouver Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed a stabbing that happened downtown.

A fight broke out at the Davie and Burrard Esso gas station at around 3:30 a.m. on August 26. When police arrived, they found a 21-year-old man who had been brutally stabbed and needed immediate medical help. He was rushed to hospital with “significant injuries.”

Detectives reviewed security camera footage and discovered there were several witnesses who filmed or took pictures of the stabbing with their phones and police are looking to speak with them. None of them have come forward.

The victim has been released from the hospital and is at home recovering.
