Vancouver police are investigating what they say is a targetted shooting in South Vancouver yesterday.

According to a release, VPD officers responded to calls of shots fired in the city’s River District neighbourhood around 5 pm on Monday.

An unknown man allegedly fired several times at a vehicle carrying two adults and a baby. VPD says no one was physically hurt.

Detectives from VPD’s Major Crimes Section believe the shooter is a South Asian male in his 20s and was one of the two men driving in the 3400 block of Sawmill Crescent on Monday afternoon.

The shooter is believed to have gotten out of the car and fired several shots at the victims as they drove into the block. The victims managed to drive away and did not get hit by bullets.

VPD believes the victims are targetted. Anyone with information, security video, or dash-cam footage to phone investigators at 604-717-2541. Anonymous tips can be forwarded to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
