VPD ask for dashcam footage after collision leaves teen seriously injured

Vancouver Police are asking the public for dashcam footage of a collision that has left a teen pedestrian with serious injuries.

According to police, the incident took place just after 8 am. The 15-year-old pedestrian was on the northeast corner of East 12th Avenue and Kingsway, waiting to cross west across Kingsway.

A work truck was northbound in the curb lane on Kingsway. The truck struck the pedestrian who was near the curb at East 12th Avenue. The teen was transported to hospital with “serious injuries.”

The truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with collision investigators.  Anyone who may have dashcam video and was driving in the area of East 12th Avenue and Kingsway this morning between 8 and 8:30 am is asked to contact VPD collision investigators at 604-717-3012.
