The Toronto Blue Jays have tied up the World Series at two apiece versus the LA Dodgers.
The Blue Jays, despite being without George Springer, were their resilient selves once again on Tuesday night, defeating the Dodgers by a 6-2 final. It was a gutsy effort after a heartbreaking defeat the night prior that saw them lose Game 3 in an outing that went 18 innings.
As has been the case plenty throughout this postseason, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played a huge part in the win. The 26-year-old finished the game with two hits, including a two-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Jays up 2-1.

The win guarantees that, regardless of the outcome in Game 5, this series will return to Toronto. The city will be full of life in hopes of seeing the Jays win their first championship since 1993, and Guerrero made it clear he wants them to be very loud throughout all of Game 6.
“I just want to say thank you for always being there for us,” Guerrero said regarding Blue Jays fans. “We will try to win tomorrow, and I want you guys to be loud in Game 6 when we get home.”
Another big performer for the Blue Jays in Game 4 was Shane Bieber, who had a lot of pressure heading in. Given how heavily the Jays relied upon the bullpen on Monday, Bieber needed to be able to provide them some rest. He did just that, giving up just one run on four hits through 5.1 innings.

After this one, Andres Gimenez, who spent four seasons with Bieber in Cleveland, said he was very confident heading into Game 4 knowing that the 2020 AL Cy Young winner was going to be on the mound.
“Last night when I went to bed, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, Bieber’s pitching tomorrow.’ I’ve got plenty of confidence in him and my teammates, but especially with Bieber. I played with him the last four years, and I know what kind of pitcher he is. He loves these situations; he loves to compete. I’m really happy for him. He’s our guy.”
The Blue Jays and Dodgers will go head-to-head one more time at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, with both clubs looking to take the series lead heading back to Toronto. Trey Yesavage will be on the mound for the Jays, while Blake Snell will get the ball for the Dodgers.
