With the evolution of the new interactive dining app Tangoo you can now decide on where to eat based on your plans for the night.
Originally this idea was pitched by Tangoo’s founder Paul Davidescu on CBC’s Dragon’s Den. The deal wasn’t made during the show, but rather after the cameras were off, when the award-winning chef Vikram Vij, co-owner of Vij’ and Rangoli and the owner of My Shanti in South Surrey, reached out about further exploring this idea.
“I realized Tangoo has some great elements that will allow restaurant owners to better connect with their customers, to communicate and create a two-way relationship via today’s technology,” says Vij.
“People are deciding where to eat by using their phones and computers, sometimes just minutes before heading to that restaurant. Tangoo offers the best restaurant-based app out there when it comes to making those decisions, to make sure everyone gets the experience they want,” Vij explains.

“Having someone like Vikram on board is key to Tangoo’s success,” said Davidescu. “He is well known for being a hands-on restaurateur, for personally greeting diners at his restaurants and being the consummate host. We want diners to feel as though they have made the perfect choice for a memorable experience.”
With the help of Vij, Tangoo is upgrading their “pocket concierge” app so that by simply tapping an “experience” icon you will be efficiently provided with a list of the best restaurants that fit your criteria. Whether it’s for a special anniversary with your romantic partner or a birthday event with you and a few close buddies, the Tangoo app will make planning events hassle-free.
Download the free app and browse the different “experience” categories that will be right for your plans. To further support the Tangoo and Vij partnership , anyone upvoting Vij’s restaurants will be entered to win monthly insider prizes which include having a “wine with Vikram” experience or an exclusive kitchen tour at My Shanti in South Surrey.
