VIDEO: Altona release debut music video for “Favourite Books”

Local alternative pop rockers, Altona, have had quite the year. Not only did the band launch their own record label, Big Smoke, but they also dropped their self-titled debut EP — a four-track banger recorded with producer Matty Jeronimo (Reef Shark, the Ruffled Feathers) over five rainy days at Vancouver’s Granville Chapel.

Following the album release, the group immediately embarked on a spring tour of western Canada, travelling through BC to the Prairies and back again. Documented by the band along the way, the trip set the scene for what would become their very first music video, for the track “Favourite Books.”

The spirited video gives fans a sneak peak into life on the road and show the boys visibly enjoying their journey — jumping into lakes and driving through scenic stretches of highway, alongside live footage of from shows including a Canada Day celebration behind the NAVE house in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The video pairs well with the song itself, which is steeped in smooth, Pacific Coast alternative rock.

Altona released the music video in concurrence with a lyric book and photo album of the tour, which will be included with every digital download of their EP. The four-piece is gearing up for a forthcoming tour set to take place next year.
