Victoria Police go undercover as panhandlers to crack down on bad drivers

The Victoria Police Department is cracking down on bad drivers in a very unconventional way.

According to CHEK News, a female officer went undercover dressed as a panhandler on the median of a busy intersection to catch drivers red handed texting while behind the wheel.

The officer was seen holding a cardboard sign that read “Buckle Up” but also had a clipboard and pen behind it to keep track of offenders. For those who were caught in the act, she would approach the drivers’ side of the vehicle and inform them police would be pulling them over in the next block.

Besides handing out distracted driving tickets, drivers also faced fines for running red lights, speeding, insurance issues and not wearing seat belts.
