Have fun on your bike! What a concept! The organizers of VELOPALOOZA (www.velopalooza.ca) think so. “No fun City? Not this week !” says Maureen Cameron, who with co-conspirators has worked long and hard to make Velopalooza a reality.
Starting with a Kickoff Party on the evening of June 4 this celebration is aimed simply at people using bikes to have a good time. With over 64 themed rides and events through the following week, cyclists will be enjoying themselves on bike routes and other cycling facilities in Vancouver.
Themes of 80’s Rides, Superheroes, Gelato, Cargo, folding and recumbent bikes, a Cemetery, picnics, bike dance and many others will have groups of cyclists criss-crossing the city.
The fun wraps up with the Velopalooza Finale — June 13 at Strathcona Park.
Music, food, bike polo, bmx riders, unicyclists, kids entertainment, the B:C:Clettes, Bike Craft, and a raffle for all sorts of valuable bikey goodies bring Velopalooza to a close.
