VCON: A weekend of science fiction, arts, and fun!

For all the science fiction enthusiasts out there, the annual Vancouver Convention of Science Fiction and Fantasy (VCON) is coming to town!

VCON “promotes science fiction and fantasy” through all areas, this includes:

  • literature and writing
  • art
  • TV and movies
  • models and collectables
  • games (video, card, board and role playing)
  • cosplay
  • comics and graphic novels
  • music
  • history and trivia
  • astronomy, space programs (past and present), and unusual science

There will be three Guests of Honour (GoHs) present to round out the science and fantasy-focussed games, activities, etc. The Guests of Honour are Gregory Benford (Science Guest of Honour), James Ng (Artist Guest of Honour) and Connie Willis (Author Guest of Honour).

Location
Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel (located nine minutes away from Surrey Central Skytrain Station).

Dates
September 28 to 30, 2012 – starting at 12:00pm on Friday September 28, 2012, running until 6:00pm on Sunday September 30, 2012
